...will keep Subaru specific price tag.
Will be inspired by Subaru's Vision GT concept.

Source fucking where!?

Hopefully they will not make it in FWD versions and Auto only.

I'll believe it when it happens. This seems extremely unlikely.

First Kia now Subaru. Why is everyone going after Audi?

A friend, who's a Subaru employee. He doesn't really gives details from work, so I'm guessing he is onto something.

Because money. Audi brings more then 10% of VAG's profits. And Subaru knows AWD.

Needs window-within-window and a manual.

US dealers are asking for it for a long time, and with sales exploding, HQ seems ready to give them everything they want, as long as record sales keep up.

When has Subaru last sold a FWD vehicle?
Seriously.

I imagine it will barely resemble the concept. *Bitter WRX concept lover*

About time. There has been room in Subaru's lineup for a while now to do something more luxurious than an STI, but with nearly the same performance.
The STI has been attracting far too much of the "Dude. Bro." crowd and they really need to have a more sophisticated car to attract a more mature in attitude clientele. I would love for them to do a shooting-brake or two-door-hatch type vehicle. Base it on the Legacy platform with the flat-6 and it would be a great car. Maybe offer a boosted 6 for the "STI-ified" version.

Will still cost more than the Legacy, obviously.

Shit, I would be happy if that WRX concept was made into a production car, forget the Vision GT concept. That thing was gorgeous.

Somebody drives a red one of these on campus, and it is awesome.

Yes, but that's not the point. Such a vehicle would still be below Audi money, even though it may be very expensive for a Subaru.

The Vision GT concept, will make the BRZ look like a toy for chumps.

Can't imagine it starting at less than $30k, maybe 33. And $40k for the hybrid version. But hey, it will still be better than a similarly priced Volt and the Cadillac ELR that costs almost double.

If they want to seriously undercut Audi those are good price points. I imagine it would be slightly higher though. $35k to start, optioned out at $45k. Still cheaper than a similarly equipped or same performance Audi.
The A5 starts at 40k, the RS5 is 52k. A boosted flat-6 SVX would compete with the RS5 but for well-optioned A5 money. That's a winner in my book.

The BR-Z isn't already a toy for chumps? :O
